PS5 HDMI Port Repair in Snellville, GA

Common Signs of a Damaged PS5 HDMI Port

A physically damaged HDMI connector can prevent the PS5 from maintaining a reliable video connection with a television or monitor. In some cases the damage is visible. In others, movement or damaged internal contacts cause an intermittent connection.

  • No Signal on the TV or monitor
  • Black screen while the PS5 powers on
  • Flickering or intermittent video
  • Loose HDMI connector
  • HDMI cable feels loose inside the port
  • Bent or broken contacts inside the HDMI port
  • Picture cuts in and out when the cable moves
  • HDMI port has been pushed into or damaged inside the console
No visible HDMI damage? A PS5 that powers on with No Signal does not automatically have a bad HDMI port. If the connector appears normal and the cause is unknown, see our PS5 No Signal Diagnosis guide or learn the difference between PS5 HDMI port damage and motherboard damage. PS5 HDMI Port Repair & Replacement

The PS5 HDMI connector is soldered directly to the motherboard. If the connector itself is physically damaged, HDMI port repair generally requires removing the damaged connector and installing a replacement HDMI port directly on the board.

The condition of the motherboard matters. A visibly damaged connector may be a straightforward port replacement, but physical force can also damage solder connections, motherboard pads or traces underneath and around the port. We inspect the connector area rather than assuming every HDMI repair is simply a matter of replacing one part.

How We Repair a PS5 HDMI Port

HDMI repair starts with inspecting the condition of the connector and motherboard. The repair can change significantly if the console has damaged pads, lifted traces or evidence of previous repair work.

  1. Inspect the physical connector. We check the HDMI shell, internal contacts, alignment and movement where the connector attaches to the motherboard.
  2. Remove the damaged HDMI port when replacement is required. The connector is removed using board-level repair equipment so the motherboard connection area can be inspected.
  3. Inspect the motherboard pads and traces. Once the damaged port is removed, the underlying pad and trace area can be examined under magnification for damage.
  4. Check for previous repair damage. Prior heat exposure, missing pads, lifted traces or disturbed components can change what is required to restore the connection.
  5. Install the replacement HDMI connector. When the motherboard connections are suitable for repair, the replacement port is installed and its connections are verified.
  6. Test video output. The PS5 is tested after the repair. Installing a new HDMI connector does not correct a separate motherboard-level video fault, so actual video output must be verified.

When No Signal Is More Than a Broken HDMI Port

No Signal describes a symptom, not necessarily the failed component. Replay ElectronX has encountered PS5 consoles where the HDMI connector was damaged, but we have also encountered consoles where the connector was replaced successfully and a separate fault in the HDMI or motherboard circuitry still prevented video output.

This is why we distinguish between a physically damaged HDMI connector and a PS5 that simply powers on without displaying a picture.

HDMI Port vs. Motherboard Damage

Physical connector damage and deeper motherboard damage can produce related symptoms but may require very different repairs.

Previous PS5 HDMI Repair Damage

A PS5 that has already had HDMI work performed may require a different evaluation from a console being opened for the first time.

We have encountered consoles where previous HDMI work damaged motherboard pads and traces or disturbed components surrounding the connector. Excessive heat, missing pads and trace damage can make a subsequent repair substantially different from a standard HDMI port replacement.

Has someone already replaced or attempted to replace the HDMI port? Tell us when you contact us. Previous board work can affect the diagnosis, repair options and whether the motherboard can be reliably restored.

More extensive motherboard faults may require Board-Level Console Repair.

PS5 HDMI Port Repair FAQ

Can a damaged PS5 HDMI port be replaced?

Yes. The PS5 HDMI connector is soldered directly to the motherboard and can be removed and replaced using board-level repair equipment. The motherboard pads and traces also need to be in repairable condition.

Does No Signal always mean the PS5 HDMI port is broken?

No. A physically damaged HDMI connector can cause No Signal, but other motherboard and video-circuit faults can produce the same symptom. If there is no obvious port damage, the console may need diagnosis before assuming the connector needs replacement.

How long does PS5 HDMI port repair take?

Many standard HDMI repairs are completed within approximately 24–48 hours. Consoles with damaged motherboard pads, traces or previous repair attempts may require additional time.

Can you repair damaged HDMI pads or traces?

Certain pad and trace damage can be repaired depending on the extent and location of the motherboard damage. The board must be inspected before determining whether a reliable repair is possible.

What if my PS5 HDMI port was already replaced but I still have No Signal?

A new connector does not correct a separate motherboard-level video fault. If the port has already been replaced, we can evaluate whether previous repair damage or another fault is preventing video output. See our PS5 HDMI Replaced But Still No Signal diagnostic guide for more information.

Do you ship PS5 HDMI repairs to another repair facility?

No. Replay ElectronX performs PS5 HDMI and board-level repair work in house at our Snellville location.
